  • Castle of Carlo V

    The majestic castle that watches over its citizensis one of the largest fortresses of the south, it was born as a rudimentary fortress on the ancient Greek Acropolis, to defend the territory from foreign invasions and is located in the ancient part of Crotone.  It was accessed from the current Piazza Castello, thanks to a partly fixed masonry bridge and partly a wooden drawbridge.

    It is currently owned by the State, handed over to the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Calabria.

  • Santa Severina

    Halfway between the Ionian Sea and the Crotonese Sila, in the Neto river valley, we recommend you visit the village of Santa Severina, a fairytale village nestled among the Calabrian hills, it is a real journey back in time, you will find the castle of Santa Severina which is based on an ancient fortification, probably dating back to the Byzantine era. The castle houses the Santa Severina museum, where all the finds found during the archaeological excavations are exhibited.

  • Capocolonna

    Capo Colonna known in the classical age as "Capo Lacinio" is a promontory located eight kilometers south of Crotone, which constitutes the easternmost tip of the Calabrian peninsula.

    The actual temple had the classic shape of Greek temples: an imposing complex of 48 Doric style columns over 8 meters high and made up of 8 fluted rocks. The roof was made of marble slabs and Parian marble tiles. Nothing is known about the decorations but they were certainly present as can be deduced from the discovery of a female head in Greek marble and a few other fragments.

    The column that remains today, in Doric style, was flanked by another which fell due to an earthquake until 1638 and rests on the few remains of the mighty stylobate.

  • Le Castella

    It is a village full of myths, legends and curiosities like very few in the world. According to some scholars, the island of Calypso described by Homer in his Odyssey should be located right near the village.

    The islet on which the fortress of Le Castella stands is located at the eastern end of the Gulf of Squillace, in the environmental context of significant naturalistic value of the Marine Protected Area of ​​Capo Rizzuto, established in 1991.

  • Crotone-Sant'Anna Airport "Pythagoras"

    The Crotone-Sant'Anna "Piythagoras" airport is located 15 km south of the city of Crotone, along the SS 106 in the direction of Catanzaro which is about 40 km away, in the municipal area of ​​Isola di Capo Rizzuto.         The airport can be reached by car, bus or train.
